About The Adventurous Learner

The Adventurous Learner is a community for families who believe curiosity should lead the way and learning can happen anywhere.

How It Began

Our founder, Megs, first imagined The Adventurous Learner while traveling across the United States with her family in an Airstream.

Their journey took them beyond the familiar attractions and into museums, historic landmarks, nature centers, libraries, parks, and remarkable local places they might never have found otherwise. These experiences brought history, science, nature, and culture to life in ways that no textbook could.

But discovering them took time. The most memorable places were often scattered across local websites, buried in search results, or shared through recommendations from people they met along the way. There was no single place designed to help curious families uncover them.

Megs knew her family could not be the only one searching.

Why We Are Here

The Adventurous Learner was created to make meaningful educational experiences easier to discover.

We bring inspiring places together in one welcoming space where families can explore recommendations, find unexpected adventures, and contribute discoveries of their own. By sharing what we find, we help one another spend less time searching and more time learning through experience.

What We Believe

We believe learning is not confined to a classroom or a desk. It happens when children follow their curiosity, walk through history, experience the natural world, encounter new ideas, and ask questions about what they see.

We believe every community has something worth discovering.

We believe families should have an easier way to find those experiences.

And we believe one family’s favorite place can become another family’s unforgettable adventure.

That is what we are building together at The Adventurous Learner.
